Then pay a visit to Saladin Citadel (Salah El Din Citadel), constructed by Salah El Din on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD in order to defend Cairo from the armies of the Crusaders. The mosque was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq who was a Turkish architect who came especially from Istanbul to build the mosque. The owner of the mosque is Mohamed Ali who was the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) and the historians call him the founder of modern Egypt.
You will then continue to see Coptic Cairo where you will see some very old churches such as the hanging church “suspended Church” and watch the holy places where Jesus Christ, Merry and Josef had hidden for some time during their visit to the land of Egypt. Then continue your visit to Ben Ezra Jewish synagogue (the Jewish temple) where Moses; as it is believed; was found and received by the maid of the queen of Egypt at the basket in the Nile river.
